Frequently Asked Questions
1: Is the current 1.0 server game team the same from original Alicia?
No, this is a private server made by fans, hosted by Alex Online (who previously worked in the official server's game fan translation tool called MLocale). We at AliciaOnHeart were once part of this project ourselves, up to Summer 2020. Alex's page can be found here. The server currently runs only by the goodwill of fans. 2: When and why did the original Alicia close?
The original servers closed in February 2014. As for the 2.0 server it was only an Open Beta for two weeks in October of 2012.
Alicia most likely closed down due to financial reasons, especially after the failure of the 2.0 version (after the debut of its 1 week open beta, the players lost interest in going back to the original server losing a lot of GameTree's money).
Keep in mind that back in 2012, there was a huge tsunami in Japan. This is relevant because a Japanese company had bought the rights to distritube Alicia in Japan, which would then open the possibility to distribute the game in the US and Europe (this was a common occurence for Korean MMOs). The company ended up never being able to release the game, likely due to finantial losses related to the tsunami.

3: Will we ever pay for the game?
No, the game is free. At least there's no indication we're going to pay a fee of any kind, as players.
4: "Can you make an account for me?"
You can create your own account here.
5: How do I change the language?
The language can be changed by clicking the Alicia.exe when starting up the game. In the Log In box, there will be a flag with the selected language the game is on. By clicking it, a drop down menu will show a number of languages the game supports.
Currently the game supports: English, Russian, Korean, German, Polish and Czech.

6: Is there servers for different zones and languages?
No, there is currently only Alex's server, which is used by all regions equally.
7: When is breeding coming out?
The breeding system was added to Alex's server in September 30th 2017. You can check all you need to know about breeding here.
8: When will 2.0 come back?
2.0 will never come back to Alex's server, but perhaps some features of it might be added to his version, like specific models.
This is all because we can't collect the data needed for the exact game to exist. On top of that, 2.0 is a separate game on its own. Many of its functions just aren't compatible with this version of the server.
